Naked Neighbor

Rae brings us along on her journey:
Everyone’s got a naked neighbor, and if you don’t, it’s probably you. Judging by my followers, and the spirited debates that normally come after a blog post, I am safely assuming you are probably that neighbor. It’s okay if you aren’t, but you probably have one, whether you know it or not. Where should a person feel more comfortable naked than in their own house. Hopefully there are blinds, and if there aren’t, hopefully your neighbors don’t mind? Well, I have definitely buried the lead, but I have an entire world of new neighbors. Jay and I bought a house and got possession last week. YAY! We’re so excited. Fixer upper is an understatement, but we have a nice private backyard, a lot of work ahead of us, and are a lot closer to some of our favorite weekend adventures (both clothed and not).
Thus, the Wednesday post. We’ve been packing boxes, picking pain swatches, tearing down walls, and sleeping on an air mattress while we wait for the rest of our furniture to arrive. Sitting down to write this blog, it’s actually probably the first time I have had more than five minutes not house purchase/reno related in a while. Not complaining, but apologies to all the unread messages in my inboxes, I will get to them as soon as I can, I promise! I am not going to lie, our relatively private back yard and the opportunity to sun tanning this summer was a major selling feature of our backyard. It’s not completely private – which also brings me to our naked neighbor conversation. I’ve only had a chance to meet on of our neighbors so far. Obviously, nudity did not come up in the first fifteen minutes of having just met her, but hopefully before the first summer day we at least broach the subject.
I am also committing to Naked Tuesday’s. I am calling it Taco Tuesday – even if we don’t eat tacos… Soon as I get home from work – I am committing to being naked. Today is day one. Naked already, but not cooking tacos. Chicken stir fry. But you get the point. Last week I blogged about trying to be more intentional with my nudity – and always looking for more ways to push my comfort zone – especially in the winter months. Taco Tuesday is the start. We installed. Well Jay installed – new blinds over the weekend for privacy. Not just for Taco Tuesday – but because the ones left by the previous owners were terrible. I already have my bathrobe beside the door in case Amazon or some neighbor decides to come introduce themselves – but this is our start.
I apologize for the short blog this week. Dinner isn’t going to cook itself, but rest assured I will be mindful of any splatter, take lots of pictures, and eat all my vegetables before dessert. I also apologize that this was written Tuesday planning for a Wednesday post. We decided to just rent a truck and move ALL our stuff to our new place yesterday, so we were slammed. As I type this apology on Thursday before typing, sitting at my new kitchen island – our house is starting to look like a home – before we start tearing down all the walls and making it OUR home.
