I couldn’t wait to tell my friends!

As we drove out of the Naturist club and the gate shut behind
us,
I was surprised to find myself feeling, well, sad. After all, it was only an experiment, something new to try and explore. As we drove back home my husband and I exchanged frequent looks, and our grins could not be any wider. Did we really just do that? Yes, it was a bit scary at first. But we had done it and we were hooked. Naturism had found me.
So, why did I decide to go to a Naturist club in the first place? My husband had seen a TV programme about it and suggested that I might be interested in watching it. So I did. Then he asked me if I wanted to give it a try. I thought about it and realised that I did; to try something new that we had never tried before, maybe get an all-over tan, but most of all the chance to feel at one with nature, and the possibility of shedding the shame about being naked instilled into me by two generations of women. I wanted to see if I could do it. And yes, I could!
The next step? Telling people.
I couldn’t wait. I was still on a high from our visit when my friends came round the next weekend. So, on Friday evening, glass of wine in hand I told my three best friends where we had gone that week.
The reaction from the first friend was, “Well done you.” She was interested in giving it a go herself. Unfortunately life and covid have prevented that from happening so far but it’s still on the cards. Her only concern about doing it was to do so with our boys. She is worried about how their seeing her naked will affect them.
The second friend was somewhat more negative; no problem with me doing it however she was absolutely adamant that it was something she would never be able to do herself. She was unhappy with her self-image and found comfort in covering herself up. Making comments about needing to lose weight and tone up, nothing could convince her that she did not need to change herself to give it a go.
The third friend couldn’t believe it. “What? Not even wearing a bikini?” Like the second friend she was dead against ever giving Naturism a try herself.
Despite these three different reactions nothing changed in our friendship. I wasn’t suddenly the pariah or the weirdo (well, no more than before!)
A year later, when my friends would come around to visit, my husband wouldn’t bother to get dressed. My friends have got used to it and there were frequent jokes from both sides. It has become so normal to them that they only comment if he is actually wearing something.
The second friend continued to be adamant that she was never going to try Naturism until one evening she was flicking through a pile of BN magazines. Having seen the normal bodies in the issues, she realised that you don’t have be perfect to enjoy what you were born with. I took my chance and asked if she was reconsidering it, and she said she’d sleep on it. The next morning was gloriously sunny and she agreed to join us for a day visit to to Heritage, the club where we are now members. After a nervous start she was sunbathing on the lawn, clothes in a pile next to her, telling me, ‘Oh Nettie, this is amazing. Thank you for bringing me here.’ When we got home she couldn’t wait to go back again, and the following week after another day visit she signed up and joined the club herself. Talk about once the bug bites you..!
Our next-door neighbour had often seen us loading up the car with the tent and had asked where we were off to. Initially we were elusive, saying it was a campsitebut not giving any specifics. We were worried about telling them in case they reacted badly. If a friend thinks being a Naturist is wrong then you lose a friend. Living next-door to someone who feels like that is a bigger issue to deal with.
But eventually we told her. Her reaction was the typical, ‘You are so brave, I could never do that,’ - whilst in the same breath mentioning about her going topless sunbathing in Spain.
Perhaps the most interesting response I have had was from one of the mums from school. Our youngest and her eldest are best friends and one day in the local park, whilst the boys were off playing, we were talking about anxiety and differentways of dealing with it. I said to her that I had a little secret and told her that we were Naturists. I explained how it feels when the gates shut behind you and all the everyday worries disappear, the sensation of sun on your skin and wind sweeping all worries from your mind. I tried to describe to her the freedom and wholeness I feel when visiting our club.
Her reaction was one of curiosity. One of her first questions was whether it was something that we had been doing all our lives. She was quite surprised to find out that we were fairly new to it. She asked if I had ever had a bad reaction from telling someone, to which I told her that I hadn’t. And she asked about suncream. As we left she told me not to be surprised if she had more questions the next time we met.
My first visit to a Naturist club was the first step to discovering a new me, one who does not look for something new to be unhappy about every time I look in the mirror, the me that does not try on ten different outfits before choosing one and is still unhappy, the me that looks out more than look in.

Thousands of people got naked on iconic Bondi Beach for a nude shoot to raise skin cancer awareness

  • Spencer Tunick's latest art installation saw 2,500 naked people take to Bondi Beach on Saturday.

  • The Guardian reported that the photo shoot was to raise awareness of skin cancer.

  • One naked model told The Guardian the experience was "freezing" but also "empowering."

Two thousand five hundred naked people filled Bondi Beach, one of Australia's most iconic landmarks, on Saturday morning in the name of Spencer Tunick's latest art installation.

The photo shoot was to raise awareness of skin cancer, with the 2,500-person crowd representing the number of Australians who die from the disease each year, The Guardian reported.

Teen killed girl, showed her body on Instagram

16-year-old confesses over Instagram to fatal shooting, Pennsylvania police say
A Pennsylvania teen has been charged with murder after he allegedly confessed over Instagram to fatally shooting another child, according to police.
The Bensalem Police Department received a 911 call Friday afternoon about a possible homicide, with the caller detailing an Instagram video chat she received from a friend, according to a police press release.
In the chat, the teen stated that he "had just killed someone" before flipping the camera around and showing the legs and feet of someone covered in blood, police said. He then asked for assistance with disposing the body, according to police.
The caller told police that the teen who sent the message lived at the Top of the Ridge trailer park in Bensalem, the release states. When officers arrived, the teen ran out of the back of a trailer, and he was later arrested about a mile away on Newport Mews Drive and Groton Drive, police said.
Officers who entered the trailer observed a girl on the floor of the bathroom dead from an apparent gunshot wound, according to authorities. There were also "substantial steps" taken to clean up the crime scene, investigators said.
The victim's identity and age have not been released, other than that she is a juvenile.
The suspect, 16-year-old Joshua Cooper, is being charged as an adult for criminal homicide, possessing instruments of crime and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, police said.
He attended a preliminary arraignment Friday night where he was denied bail, online court records show. It is unclear whether he entered a plea.
Cooper is being held at the Edison Juvenile Detention Center, police said. His arraignment has been scheduled for Dec. 7, according to online records.
An attorney for the teen was not listed on online court records.

Here’s How to Stop Succumbing to Financial Peer Pressure

If your friends don't respect your budget, it might be time for new friends.

No one wants to be the friend who always has to miss dinners, concerts, and vacations because of their strict budget. Maybe you’re unexpectedly tight on cash all of a sudden, or maybe your friend group has slowly but surely fallen victim to lifestyle creep. Whatever your reasons, saying “no” to well-intentioned friends and family is one of the most challenging aspects to keeping your spending in check.

If you’ve noticed that you’re spending more than you’d like to be because of the company you keep, here are some tips to resist financial peer pressure without tarnishing your relationships.

15 Of The Coolest, Oddest, And Most Terrifying Things Being Unearthed By Global Warming

Is the world
ending? Maybe, if you look at some of these spooky facts. For example, did you know that Lake Mead has been slowly drying up since 1937, and recent years have seen it reach its lowest water levels ever? This means that human skeletal remains are now visible in and around the area. If that's not enough to send a chill down your spine, how about this: thanks to the severe drought sweeping across America's Midwest, the water level in the Mississippi River has dropped so low that people can now walk to Tower Rock—an island typically only accessible by boat. And as if all of that wasn't enough evidence of an impending apocalypse, climate change is also causing the geographic North Pole to migrate eastwards towards continental Europe at an annual rate of 10 centimeters (4 inches). So maybe we kind of really should all start stocking up on supplies and building bunkers.

Blank sheets of paper become symbol of defiance in China protests

Chinese protesters have turned to blank sheets of paper to express their anger over COVID-19 restrictions in a rare, widespread outpouring of public dissent that has gone beyond social media to some of China's streets and top universities. Images and videos circulated online showed students at universities in cities including Nanjing and Beijing holding up blank sheets of paper in silent protest, a tactic used in part to evade censorship or arrest. China is adhering to its tough zero-COVID policy even while much of the world tries to coexist with the coronavirus.

Google handed investigators location data for over 5,000 devices to investigate MAGA terrorist/rioters

On Monday, WIRED
reported that Google has handed over location data for around over 5,000 devices to federal investigators pursuing cases against the people who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6 — a dragnet that is unprecedented in scale for such an investigation.
Furthermore, said the report, this handover caught up a bunch of rioters who thought they had turned off their cell phone connections or went out of their way to try to delete their location data.

What Is a Grey Romantic?

Learn A Different Kind of Love
Everywhere we go we are surrounded by concepts of love and romance (and sex). Romance books and movies, Valentine’s Day, and an endless sea of “dream wedding” ideas. Our society puts heavy emphasis on finding a partner to have a romantic connection with.

But what about those who don’t really have that kind of bond with people?

Well, thanks to the burst of helpful language the LGBTQ+ community has brought about/shined a light on, we have a handy-dandy word for that. It’s called Grey Romantic.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A GREY ROMANTIC?

Well, first, let’s define a few other terms that will make the definition make more sense (especially if you’re new to these terms).

  • AROMANTIC – is a spectrum for those who have very little or no romantic attraction to others. Or they do not feel/relate to romance in the standard ways or levels that society feels are “normal”.
  • DEMIROMANTIC – is another group that sits on the Aromantic scale. It describes someone who will not feel a romantic connection to someone unless there is a deep, emotional bond.

Greyromantics sit on the Aromantic spectrum but feel there are parts of their experience that aren’t fully described by the word aromantic.”

lgbtqia.wiki

They also might…

  • Consider themselves not purely aromantic or maybe demiromantic
  • Only experience society’s idea of true love only a couple of times in their life
  • Feel it, but only under very specific circumstances
  • Experience romance very weakly
  • Be unsure where the line is between romantic and non-romantic attraction

Greyromantic and aromantic folks feel alienated from the dominant experience. If you’re constantly watching shows and reading books that prize romantic exchanges, written with the assumption that all people have the same expectations about love and romance, but you actually don’t feel compelled to find romance in your own life, it can feel dislocating.

Nothing is wrong with you, you’re not broken, and what a frickin’ treat it is to know that something doesn’t resonate with you and that’s not part of what feels good.

Sex Therapist Claudia Johnson

Also, it’s very important to remember that this does not cover sexual attraction (which is a different category altogether).  Someone who is grey romantic might still feel intense sexual attraction to someone else. And it could be someone of the opposite or same gender. An example could be grey-homoromantic.

And getting back to the idea of love. This doesn’t mean grey romantics don’t feel love. They are still capable of loving family, friends, children, etc. They just might not feel it towards a partner.

Note: It’s also spelled/called greyaromantic, grayromantic, or grayaromantic. Grey comes from the term “grey area”, which is widely used by the community to express flexibility or exploration.

The History of Xmas Sex

Never imagined you’d be reading the history of Xmas sex, did you? Well, you’re not alone. But you’re certainly not weird! It’s actually a very interesting topic that’s spanned over thousands of years.
Throughout history, different civilizations have celebrated the mid-winter season with some interesting merrymaking. And it makes sense if you think about it.
There’s not always the connection of religion or even location, but there is something that most places (save those huddled along the equator) have in common…
It’s fucking cold.
Here’s what historians and anthropologists have shared about sex and winter celebrations.
HISTORY OF XMAS SEX – THE ROMANS
Every year, from December 17th to 23rd, was the festival of Saturnalia – the god of Saturn. That one week was only for drinking and being merry. They used boughs of holly as decorations, gave gifts, and gorged themselves on food.
Sound familiar?
Well, it should. Christians replaced the holiday with Christmas but kept on many of the traditions so the changeover would be as jarring – and wouldn’t bring on as much rebellion. But what about sex?
The division of classes was very strict. On top of that, the Roman Empire wasn’t exactly a relaxing place to live in. It was easy to have frustrations build up over the months.
Add booze, loose social norms, and a carnival-like environment, and well … you get the picture. The freedom to get naughty was also extended to slaves. So, it was a glorious celebration for the lower classes.
HISTORY OF XMAS SEX – Saint Nicolas

We know he’s the “ancestor” of Santa Claus. But did you know he was the patron saint of prostitutes?
Yep! Santa loved hookers.
There are many variations on the story, but the main idea was that one man didn’t have enough to pay for the dowries of his three daughters. Without the money, the girls would be forced into prostitution. Saint Nicolas tossed three bags of coins in the window so they wouldn’t have to sell their bodies. It might seem like a mind-bender, since he helped the girls stay out of the trade, but his name is still attached to the idea.
HISTORY OF XMAS SEX – The Inuit

In pre-christian Central Arctic, the Inuit would honor Sedna, the goddess of the sea somewhere around December.
There would be games, cross-dressing, and wife swapping. The men would be paired of with women and go to the women’s hut where they would live as “husband and wife” for a couple of days. They don’t actually say “sex”, but we all know what’s going on under those animal skins.
UP TO THE 17th Century

We know about Boxing Day. But did you know that in the 17th century the term box took on the meaning that we know today (= vagina).
Peter Anthony Motteux writes about a wife with a ‘Priapus’ ‘sticking in her natural Xmas box’, in 1694. In ‘The London Spy’ (1699), Ned Ward makes jokes about women showing ‘the mouth of a Xmas box’ to anyone who would like to see. And in ‘Soldier’s Return’ (1720), D’Urfey describes a young woman who will ‘open her Xmas box’ and ‘give it all to the red-coats’.
This is just a fraction of the worldwide celebrations that go on when things get freezing!
Never imagined you’d be reading the history of Xmas sex, did you? Well, you’re not alone. But you’re certainly not weird! It’s actually a very interesting topic that’s spanned over thousands of years.

Sexsomnia

Sexsomnia – Having Sex While Fast Asleep
You heard of sleepwalking, but what about sleep sex? Yes, the condition Sexsomnia (think of the “omnia” part coming from words like insomnia) is a real thing that still eludes medical professionals and researchers to this day.

Let’s take a deeper dive into this usual disorder, what causes it, how people manage it, and other interesting tidbits.

WHAT IS SEXSOMNIA?

Sleep sex is a type of sleep disorder known as parasomnia – which is a “catchall” term for any usual behavior that people experience just before falling asleep, during sleep, or during the arousal period between sleep and when they’re awake.

People can even have their eyes open or even make sexual noises during this time, but still are completely unaware of what’s going on. They don’t even remember doing anything sexual when they have finally woken up.

As far as researchers and doctors know, it’s a fairly rare condition. However, because these actions happen when the person is passed out, the only way to know if they suffer from sexsomnia is if there is another person in the room to witness it.

Sexual actions can include…

  • Sexual movements
  • Fondling
  • Masturbation
  • Initiating sexual activities
  • Sexual aggression
  • Sexual assault

WHAT CAUSES SEXSOMNIA?

Again, there’s not much data out there to really have a good handle on this condition. All they know for sure is that it can happen because of a number of larger/overlaying conditions.

  • Other parasomnias, such as sleepwalking
  • Kleine-Levin syndrome
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Sleep-related seizures
  • Chronic insomnia
  • Restless legs syndrome
  • Narcolepsy
  • Persistent sexual arousal syndrome
  • Sleep-related dissociative disorders
  • Nocturnal psychotic disorders
  • Bruxism or teeth grinding
  • Drinking alcohol
  • Past or current recreational drug use
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Depression
  • Poor sleep hygiene

It’s also worth mentioning that the first two on the list apparently are the most common reasons, but temporal and frontal seizures can contribute too.

NOTE: Some men might think they’ve had a wet dream, when in fact it was sexsomnia masturbation. But they don’t know unless someone else sees it. Men are also more likely to have this condition than women.

HOW IT’S TREATED

Sadly, there are no wonder drugs to fix this. The only ones are sedatives or antidepressants off-label for treating the condition. This means prescribing a drug or medical device for a purpose different from one of the indications that the FDA gives.

The other problem is if the person with sexsomnia has a partner, this person can end up in distressing situations (especially if the unconscious sexual acts become aggressive). Then, there’s the added stress and guilt when the person wakes up and sees that they have hurt their partner. This is why therapy, or couples’ counseling is often a must for these cases.

Some people have had to go as far as sleeping in separate rooms and locking the door. A few have reported that setting off motion alarms in key areas of the house helps as well. This wakes them up and then they can go back to bed. However, learning to recognize the person’s “triggers” can help too. This can be things like stress or drinking, etc.

In several cases, the use of a positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine or a mandibular advancement device was useful.

The biggest overall way to tackle this condition seems to be practicing good sleep hygiene, which is the case with anyone suffering from parasomnia.

Good sleep hygiene includes…

  • Avoiding stimulants before bed (like coffee)
  • Having a fixed wake-up and sleep time
  • Don’t have too many naps during the day
  • Avoid your phone late at night (blue light)
  • Give yourself winding down time
  • Don’t stay in bed if you can’t sleep for more than 20 minutes
  • Try not to eat too late

There are way more, but you get the idea.

SEXSOMNIA FINAL THOUGHTS

Sex sleep can be a hard condition to live with. It can come with embarrassment or the knowledge you might have had sex with someone who couldn’t give their real consent. Even the court system has a hard time knowing what to do with these cases. However, as mentioned before, there are help systems out there and ways of coping.

Do Women Have Wet Dreams?

Nocturnal emissions (as they’re also called) feel like they are the domain of men – mostly of boys going through puberty. But many people wonder, do women have wet dreams? Do they wake up with soaked sheets after a steamy night vision? Today we will answer that, along with a few interesting facts.

WHAT ARE WET DREAMS

Wet dreams are basically spontaneous orgasms someone will have when they are fast asleep. And while they mostly happen to kids while they’re going through their big hormone change, adults can experience them as well. They just don’t happen as often.

The biggest cause is from having an erotic dream during the REM part of the sleep cycle. It’s where people can experience the most vivid dreams. The trigger can cause someone to orgasm.

However …

That’s not the only thing. Teens can experience testosterone surges. Or, if adult men go a long time without sex, they can experience a testosterone buildup. On top of these, even rubbing up against the bed while asleep can be enough to stimulate the genitals. All of these can cause wet dreams too.

“PREVENTION”

Sorry, but there’s no real way to prevent a wet dream. And even so, why would you want to? They are perfectly healthy and normal parts of growing and adulthood. Although, some families or cultures might stigmatize it to the point someone might feel dirty about having one.

Also, since it’s more normal to talk about boys or men going through this, it’s not as common for women to even talk about it which might make them feel embarrassed.

In the rare case that wet dreams become a “problem”, there are some medications that have a side effect of lowering the libido. These can sometimes reduce or stop nocturnal emissions. However, they also make it hard to orgasm while awake as well.

SIDE NOTE: don’t buy into any of these “natural remedies” that television and the internet claim. They are total BS.

DO WOMEN HAVE WET DREAMS

Yes. Yes, they do!

The only reason we have images of soaking sheets is because boys/men will have far more coming out while they orgasm. But women can totally wake up with wet panties. This counts too.

The thing is women don’t have these as much as men do (obviously). And even less will leave their bed wet. In fact, only around 10% of females experience “female ejaculation” in which there is a spurt of clear fluid during orgasm.

INTERESTING FACT: Research shows that 40% of women have had a wet dream by the age of 45.

OTHER WET DREAM FACTS

  • Adults have fewer wet dreams because they developed better control over their sexual urges or have a form of release (like a sex partner or masturbation).
  • It does not point to sexual preferences. Meaning if you have a wet dream about another woman, it doesn’t automatically mean you’re gay.
  • Women who have wet dreams might find their nipples get hard too.
  • Some boys go through puberty without having a single nocturnal emission.
  • It’s easier for boys also because their genitals are on the outside.
  • They don’t reduce sperm counts or reduce someone’s immunity.
  • Having one does not shrink the penis.
  • They are not a sign of illness.
  • It’s a good idea to clean yourself up right after to maintain body hygiene.

DO WOMEN HAVE WET DREAMS – CONCLUSION

Now that we know the answer is yes, if you ever have one in your life, just remember it’s normal. Also, if you can orgasm while asleep (but never while awake) there might be a larger underlying condition you need to look at. For this, it’s recommended to visit a doctor so they can take a detailed history.
