Few, if any, Neolithic monuments have captured the imagination as much as Stonehenge. While Stonehenge may be the most famous as it has some of the largest standing stones, it is far from the only stone circle in England. But one question is if Stonehenge was where the ancient Britons sun worshiped and buried their dead - where did they live? It seems that question has now been answered. It was at a nearby site called Durrington Walls. It seems Stonehenge has given up yet another of its many mysteries.
Stonehenge is full of mysteries and is part of a much larger complex of Neolithic sites in the area (like the Durrington Walls). Not far away is the Avebury Stone Circle which is even older than Stonehenge. Stonehenge is a must for those visiting Salisbury and southern England.
