The Oldest Ever Human Footprints Have Just Been Discovered – And They're 300,000 Years Old

Perfectly preserved footprints, said to belong to a small family of Heidelberg people, have been found in Lower Saxony, Germany. Scientists made the discovery among prehistoric elephant tracks at a site in Schöningen. The 300,000-year-old fossils are presumed to be left by Homo heidelbergensis, an extinct archaic human species, and give an insight into the daily lives of these people, their behavior and social interaction with elephant herds and other smaller mammals.
