Stonehenge May Have Originally Stood In Wales, Here's How Welsh Stone Got Into The Famous Monument

Stonehenge is undoubtedly the most famous prehistoric landmark in the United Kingdom - and possibly the most famous in all of Europe. Stonehenge is located on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, England, and is continuing to give up its many secrets. It is now suggested it first existed as a stone circle in Wales that was later relocated to its present location in England.
There are plenty of other Neolithic attractions found in the United Kingdom - one of the best sites (called the Heart of Neolithic Orkney) is on the remote Scottish Orkney Islands. Stonehenge and other ancient stone circles are fascinating, offering a glimpse into a very different world and religion. Next time in Iceland, take the time to see Arctic Henge and see how Iceland is rediscovering its pagan roots.
