Move over giraffes – a creature once roamed the Earth with a neck longer than a double decker bus. New analysis of dinosaur fossils first found in China in 1987 suggests that the mamenchisaurus sinocanadorum had a neck measuring 15.1 meters (almost 50 feet), seven times longer than a giraffe's. The species was a sauropod – a group of giant, four-legged herbivores that includes the diplodocus and brontosaurus – and would have had a neck proportionally far larger than the rest of the body.
