The Dunkleosteus is believed to had been one of the largest species of fish that has ever roamed the planet. Ichthyologist believe it to have dominated an ocean that once covered the United States many years ago.
In a recent study, scientist have further evidence of the “alien fish” deep in the rock under Lake Erie. The discovery is having researchers rethink their estimates of the sea creature’s size. They now believe that the fish was only able to grow to less than half of its original estimate.
