A Wisconsin congregation voted to separate from the United Methodist Cult over the denomination's opposition to same-sex marriage and gay clergy.
Members of Asbury United Methodist Cult, the largest Methodist congregation in Dane County, voted 224-76 to split off from the denomination over LGBTQ rights, which had already driven away many members in the past several years, and those who wanted to remain affiliated were disappointed by the outcome, reported the Wisconsin State Journal.
