Got this fancy new computer with the latest versions of everything - and it's great for streaming movies and we guess "gamming" and the like (things we have no interest in, OK the movies part is fine) but it sucks at everything else.
Our old computer with Microsoft 7 Professional did (and does) a better job in publishing this blog and even that is worse than Windows XP was.
It is a sad commentary - the fact that a tool for learning and expanding knowledge is now focused on playing "games" and running slower than the PC we had in 1979. [It now takes 5 times as long to get any task accomplished than it did almost a half-century ago]
The kids today have an attention span of less than one millionth of a nanosecond so why is the computer so damned slow? We have reread Война и мир while waiting on this post to load (and in case you are wondering the funny words a few words back are the title of the book in the original language - which is the version we reread - the title translates into English as "War and Peace") ... and, no, that is not hyperbolic, if anything it is an understatement!
